I’m interested in mathematics, its applications, its place within history and society, and surrounding philosophical questions. I believe that the best path to understanding is to get one’s hands dirty and engage in practical mathematical activity. This motivates my work in numerical, scientific, and statistical computing. This place is a home for writings that would not be at home anywhere else. My idea of a successful post is one that leads to at least one interesting discussion or collaboration.
